A BIT ABOUT ANNA
Anna Stanley, born and raised in Muncie, Indiana, and cornfields, is now based in NYC as a dancer/actor/singer, and videographer. She recently graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Musical Theater (GO ORANGE)!
Heading to college, theater was a passion she had only recently discovered. She was straight out of the competition dance world, and reaching success was simply about - dancing well enough and singing bright enough. Embracing the sport of it all, the fun of it all.
But once she began to study, she realized it was so much more than just singing or dancing. It was stories. It was sharing perspectives. It was shining a spotlight on humanity and the complexities within it, for better and for worse. No character is simple, and no story is one-sided. Investigating THIS and honoring THIS within the work is what she is here to do.
She feels lucky to be part of this community and loves this artform deeply. More than she could have imagined. Its joys and challenges, paired with its value and variations... what a freaking privilege.
